Melissa Synan

Overview

Melissa joined McCarthy Partners in 2021 and is an experienced legal receptionist and clerk.  She began her legal career in 2013 and has worked at several firms across the Mornington Peninsula.  In her various legal positions Melissa has been responsible for reception duties, accounts, management of the safe keeping of documents system, verification of identity checks and management, preparation of briefs, diary management and general file and office administration.

Prior to the legal sector Melissa worked in the financial planning and life insurance industries in Melbourne and Sydney.  She began her career with RetireInvest in Melbourne where she worked in their life insurance division and was responsible for reviewing and confirming commission payments received. From RetireInvest Melissa moved to Asteron Life (formerly Royal Sunalliance) in Sydney where she was responsible for the calculation and payment of commissions to Life Insurance advisers and brokers.

Moving into more of an administrative role saw Melissa move to Integrated Process Solutions (a subsidiary of Citibank) where she was the team leader of a direct marketing team and a life insurance team.  This was followed by a stint in the Procurement department of Deutsche Bank.

Upon returning to Melbourne, Melissa was the Client Services Manager at Banksia Financial Planning before beginning her career in the legal field.

Melissa has a strong customer service focus and is a dedicated member of our team.

Qualifications

Melissa has a Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) from Victoria University.
